Preliminary and Final Engineering

BLA provided design services for the rehabilitation of Ravine Drive bridge and reconstruction of the associated roadway.  BLA designed new precast, prestressed deck beams to fit the existing curved alignment which were topped with a reinforced concrete wearing surface.  Modifications to the existing substructure were necessary to minimize profile impacts and cantilever sidewalks were designed to replace the existing deteriorated sidewalks on the bridge.  BLA saved the City considerable time and money by analyzing and determining the existing substructures could be reused.  The project was expedited to meet a construction schedule that would accommodate the school bus routes; the bridge construction occurred during summer break.
