$107.5 million

I-90 is a major corridor moving traffic from the east coast through Chicago to Wisconsin and western states.  BLA served as the prime consultant for the widening and reconstruction of 7.5 miles of eastbound and westbound mainline pavement between Mill Road and Genoa Road, just east of Rockford.  Project included eight separate construction contracts including mainline pavement, eastbound and westbound structures over the Kishwaukee River, five crossroad bridges and a new eastbound entrance ramp at Irene Road.  The Kishwaukee River bridges are the longest span (550 feet) steel girder integral abutment bridges in Illinois.
