Phase I Engineering
Phase I study of Manhattan-Monee Road between Center Road and the Monee corporate limits, approximately 3.5 miles. Manhattan-Monee is a rural road in an unincorporated area adjacent to a growing community, the Village of Monee. Identified by Will County’s 2040 Plan as a four-lane corridor as well as by the County’s 2030 Freight Plan, the proposed cross section was influenced by subdivision access, existing intersecting streets, truck traffic volumes and access needs. A historic cemetery, a potentially historic town hall, a local public school and a golf course all influenced the development of intersection geometrics at various locations. The Phase I study was completed to enable future use of federal funding.
